摘要Water-soluble proteins from Gracilaria lemaneiformis were extracted and further purification for R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) was carried out. Remaining cell mass was used for agar extraction. Approximately 21% of the R-PE recovered from the crude extract and the yield of R-PE with a purification ratio >3.2 were 0,36 mg g(-1) fresh G, lemaneiformis, The yield of agar was 15,2%, with the gel strength of 895 +/- 20 g cm(-2) in a 1% gel at 30 degrees C, which showed no significant difference from those obtained from the directed agar extraction using the dried algae.
