摘要 | This paper presents the investigation of 4-amino-5-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol and 4-amino-5-nitrophenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol as corrosion inhibitors for copper in 3.5% NaCl solution. Determinations of weight loss, electrochemical measurements, scanning electronic microscope (SEM) and quantum chemical calculation were performed to analyze the inhibiting performance of these compounds. All compounds showed >90% inhibition efficiency at their optimum concentration. Thermodynamic calculation suggests that the adsorption of the inhibitors was found to follow the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The relationships between inhibition efficiency and the molecular orbitals were calculated by quantum chemical method.
