The corrosion of metal materials cause huge losses, and the direct economic losses is very serious. Air contains a lot of oxygen and moisture, which build an excellent natural environment for corrosion of metal material. China is a maritime power, most part of abundant marine resources are in the shallow water area of the continental shelf, and are easy for development. Most part of shore platform, as well as various types of maritime work equipment are made of metal materials, and the seawater contains a large number of corrosive medium, are more likely to cause corrosion damage. Thus, researchers focused on the field of metals corrosion and protection pay great attention to the development of green, pollution-free natural organic compounds as corrosion inhibitor.
This work systematically studied a natural organic-chitin’s derivatives, made them as corrosion inhibitor to protect the metal materials in corrosive medium, such as the artificial seawater or the sea water, and its derivatives with cathodic protection for metal protection.  In addition, we studied a green organic polymers as corrosion inhibitor for metal protection. The experimental means mainly include weightlessness experiment, electrochemical experiments (polarization curve, impedance spectroscopy), scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier infrared spectrum (FTIR).The results show that CMCS could inhibit the corrosion of X70 in seawater. CMCS and Na2WO4 show good synergies as corrosion inhibitor for X70 pipeline steel in seawater. Inhibition of combined corrosion inhibitor and cathodic protection shows a good synergistic effect on the protection of X70 pipeline steels. Calcareous deposit only forms on the metal surface in blank seawater, but cannot form in the presence of CMCS and Na2WO4, and there was no sign of corrosion. As a terpolymer, the CTS-IA-AA is an effective inhibitor which act as a modest anodic inhibitor and not much of

cathodic inhibitor for the stainless steel in 3.5% sodium chloride solution. The inhibition efficiencies of CTS-IA-AA depend on their concentrations and temperature in a certain range. The adsorption of the inhibitors on metal surface obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm and chemisorption, and the metal surface was protected through the adsorption of the inhibitor on its surface, thereby reducing both metal corrosion and oxygen evolution.
